PushButton Engine Isometric Component Released

Created: Wednesday, September 8, 2010 @ 05:52 PM

**Update - the component is now maintained at:

The Pushbutton Engine Isometric component that I have been working on is finally released to the public. This component release comes hand in hand with the release of my much anticipated GameBuilder Studio editor. I was originally calling it the Isometric editor but it is going to turn into a full fledged flash game development tool with support for platformer games in the coming months and 3D in the later part of 2011. Initially it is built to take advantage of the Isometric Component mainly as a level editor. It's in an early beta stage at this point so you can register for the GameBuilder Studio private beta if you are interested. I need as much feedback as I can get so that I am only adding features that the flash game development community actually wants. There is a Get Satisfaction community page to post your ideas, questions and feedback for both the Isometric Component and GameBuilder Studio.

I have some asdocs and some basic documentation for the Isometric component in the zip file that you download. There will be a few recorded tutorial videos posted shortly to show how to use the component because I rather show someone how to do something rather than tell you with a whole bunch of written docs, thats just me. The next minor update to the Isometric component will have box2D support and AI support for pathfinding, etc. (should be out in a few weeks)

This component is released under the Indie license. For individual developers the swc is free. For companies making over $500,000 in revenue the commercial license is $500 which comes with full source code and all future updates. The Isometric component is released in a swc format, if you would like the source code for customization it is $49 for an individual developer.
