• 2007-2010 – Shutterfly
  Built out an application called Simple Path:

  Worked on the award-winning photo books application that has changed the photo books industry forever. This is Shutterfly’s flagship photo book creation application, which allows its customers to build their books in 15 minutes or less. I worked on the front-end user experience, on a team of 10 developers at the time.

  I was the lead visual architect for this project handling skinning and viewing the architecture of the flex application. Custom Path was released in January 2011 and it was the biggest undertaking that the company has ever taken on at the time. It is an enterprise-level visual application for their Photo Book customers to completely customize the look and feel of their books. We used the new Flex 4 Spark architecture to accomplish the complete custom look that this application has.
• 2010-2016 – GameBuilder Studio
  GameBuilder Studio (GBS) is a solution that lowers the barrier of entry for anyone interested in creating 2D games for multiple platforms. You can import SWF assets from the Flash IDE, layout and position, game objects, and assets, and add game logic to them. It also features a plug-in SDK to allow game builders to extend the functionality of the application. This application is built on the Adobe AIR platform to achieve cross-platform deployment to iOS, Android, and the web-based Flash player. Developed this company and product from the ground up. Licensing system, Native Process execution, Built Adobe Native Extensions for various device features. (i.e. In-App Purchase, Admob, etc..)
• 2010 – Moder
  Moder Loan Modification Software (Commercial):
  This project is no longer in development. The application was built on top of the AIR platform from Adobe. Moder is a loan modification software that will streamline the process of submission and processing of HAMP program client files. Tracking changes, dollar figures, etc… in real-time. It utilizes the data synchronization technology built into the Weborb Java server. This server uses the sophisticated RTMP protocol to connect all connected applications together ensuring true real-time synchronization across all connected clients. The software will include such sophisticated features as company chat, video chat, and shared objects, upon completion.
• 2011 – Fujitsu
  – Lead a small development team to build out a 3D sales tool for Fujitsu sales
• 2011-2014 – Better Assessments
  – Lead a small development team to build out their entire E-learning / mobile educational system. I Architected and developed an online and mobile-based e-book technology that takes digitized books from Pearson (one of the leading providers of educational material) and load them into an online editor for overlaying input boxes and question-and-answer controls for students to fill out worksheets on their iPads and have them auto-graded by the system’s proprietary grading algorithm. This saved teachers a ton of time and allowed student work to be analyzed on a more analytical level. We used LAMP servers on AWS, and Flex / Adobe AIR mobile technologies for cross-platform deployment to iOS and Android tablets. Currently on the app store:
• 2014 – 2018 – Directv
  – Re-architected and worked on the video player used to play all directv.com content. Both DRM / Non-DRM content utilizing the Adobe Primetime SDK.
  – Integrated Chromecast device streaming and re-skinned Directv NFL Sunday ticket app for the web. For the 2014 and upcoming 2015 NFL seasons.
  – Won CTO Award
  NFL Sunday Ticket App HTML5 Rewrite
  – Re-architected and re-designed the NFL app due to the eminent sunsetting of the Flash player in browsers.
  – Had to build the project on a budget that was cut in half.
  – Hired a new team from scratch on a limited timeline.
  – The web platform ended up being one of the Top 3 used platforms with over 1.2 million streams per week.
• 2017 – Rogers (Canada)
  – Develop an entire Netflix-style entertainment portal for the largest communications company out of Canada on short notice.
  – Traveled back and forth to Toronto to work with the Rogers UI/UX team to deliver the project on time and on spec. All while also managing the Web and Apple TV NFL Sunday Ticket project deadlines for the 2017 season.

A few achievements

• 2011: Awarded a provisional patent for some print technology I developed
  A process of converting digital text into print-ready pdf documents using Flex TLF text format and a PHP backend server. (Text_To_PDF_ProcessFlow.pdf)
• 2018: Won the AT&T CTO Award

  For the work, I did on delivering the 2018 NFL Sunday Ticket Web Project. I was essentially put in an Engineering Manager/Director role. I hired developers and built a team of Javascript developers to rewrite the NFL Sunday Ticket app within a 9-month period. I maintained my technical hands-on experience with coding frameworks like Angular and React JS while having to be hands-off at times to manage the team. At the end of the project when it required jumping into code to deliver on time I was able to do so as well.
