GameBuilder Studio was a custom software developed on the Adobe AIR runtime. The vision for the tool was to become the no-code game development option for cross-platform cross-device 2D game development. The underlying game engine is built on an open-source Actionscript game engine.
The adobe air platform made a natural development platform given its cross-platform native deployment capabilities. We built dynamically changing UI skins changing the context of the UI based on which game entity was actively selected. Users could write a custom app and game engine plugins and run them inside of the app. The licensing system was built from a custom server-side WordPress website integration to allow online orders to automatically generate license keys for each user-purchased license.
